Faith Hills
Seven hills on the site are to show our respect to seven major faiths and to reflect the seven peaks of Shri Venkateswara Temple in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India.
"Unity is divinity" is the motto of our temple and this motto is so relevant for our interfaith work.
We took the concept of 7 peaks and created 7 faith hills in our temple complex here in Tividale. Each of the seven Faith hills represents seven major faiths in the United Kingdom and India.
Christian Hill
Faith hill representing Christianity bears a plaque with an inscription “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and love your neighbour as yourself” which was opened by the archbishop of Canterbury the most rev’d & Rt.Hon. Dr. Rowan Williams when he visited this temple on 15th November 2008.
Zoroastrian Hill
The Zoroastrian Parsi Hill was inaugurated in 2013 by Lord Karan Bilimoria and Kashmira Cooke, the sister of the rock star Freddie Mercury. A status of Farohar, constructed by Black Country artist Luke Perry and made from Tata Steel was also unveiled on the occasion.
